USDA Wheat Standards
The official USDA grading system for wheat sold in US trade.
View official standardAbout this standard
The United States Standards for Wheat, maintained by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (7 CFR §§ 810.2201-810.2205), define the grade factors used to inspect and classify wheat in US trade — including test weight, damaged kernels, foreign material, and shrunken and broken kernels. Vibe workflows can measure some of the same visual characteristics — damaged kernels, foreign material, and shrunken and broken kernels — for internal comparison and visual screening. Characteristics outside image-based measurement require the applicable official or laboratory method, and this does not constitute an official USDA grade.
