The United States Standards for Rice, maintained by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (7 CFR §§ 868.201-868.316), define the grading factors used to inspect and classify rough rice, brown rice for processing, and milled rice in US trade — including chalkiness, broken kernels, whiteness, and foreign material limits. Vibe workflows can measure some of the same visual characteristics — chalkiness, broken kernels, whiteness, and foreign material — for internal comparison and visual screening; this does not constitute an official USDA grade.
